Jessica Lee is a Chinese Canadian documentary photographer, photojournalist and writer currently based in Hong Kong, previously in Toronto. She is primarily interested in stories about culture, social justice, identity and migration. She aims to highlight relevant current social issues in her work, often from a fresh perspective. Most recently in 2023, she was recognized by the News Photographers Association of Canada's Pictures of the Year for Photo of the Year (2022) and Portrait of the Year (2022). Recent projects include documenting van life culture, racism in Canada, a fly-in dentist at a Northern Manitoba reserve and the housing crisis in Toronto.

Her work has appeared in the National Geographic, The Globe and Mail, The Guardian, CBC, The Canadian Press, Reuters, Bloomberg Businessweek, Toronto Star, National Post, CTV News Toronto, Maclean’s Magazine, Yahoo News Canada, National Observer, Toronto Life Magazine, The Montreal Gazette, Winnipeg Free Press, CP24 and The Local.

Jessica volunteers as a mentor with Room Upfront, a mentorship program for BIPOC photographers in Canada. She is a member of Women Photograph and a full member of Diversify Photo. As of 2023, she is certified with hostile environment and emergency first aid training.

She is available for assignments at home or abroad.
